What exactly is the Dog Foundations Program?
Homeschool by LAY LO is our signature program designed to help you build long-lasting habits and communication with your dog through expert 1:1 support, flexible scheduling, and a personalized plan. It’s ideal for anyone who wants a more peaceful, connected life with their pup at home.
Can this really work online? Don’t I need someone in-person?
Yes, it works incredibly well online. Our expert trainers coach you directly, teaching you how to make lasting changes at home—because real change starts with the person on the other end of the leash.
What kind of issues can you help with?
Everything from leash pulling and jumping to barking, separation anxiety, reactivity, and beyond. We’ll match you with a specialist who’s experienced in solving the exact challenges you’re facing.
How much time do I need to dedicate each week?
At the very least, all you need is 5 minutes a day of practice, and one live 45 minute session per week — although the program also includes 15-min shorter, live practice sessions. These small, consistent efforts lead to big results over time and are easy to integrate into your daily life.
Is this just for puppies, or do you help older dogs too?
We work with dogs of all ages—from brand new puppies to adult dogs who need a reset. It’s never too late to build better habits and stronger communication.
What if I’ve already tried other training methods?
That’s totally fine—many of our clients come to us after trying other programs. What makes us different is our personalized guidance, accountability, and ongoing support from real humans.
What if my dog is aggressive or highly reactive?

What happens if I miss a session?
Life happens—we get it. You can reschedule with 24 hours’ notice, and any unused sessions are simply added to the end of your program.
Do you offer help with nutrition, enrichment, or general care?
Definitely. Our trainers take a holistic approach and can support you with enrichment routines, food guidance, home set-up tips, and more.
What’s the Accountability Plan?
That’s also referred to as our Homeschool Lite option—a more flexible, lower-commitment path that still gives you access to an expert, weekly check-ins, and a custom training roadmap at a low monthly price.
Do I need any special equipment?
Not at all. All you need is a leash, some treats, and a bit of patience. If any additional tools are needed, your trainer will let you know and walk you through it.
